Camphouse Portal reaches final testing stages

The Camphouse Portal will serve as a centralized document holding system for Muscogee (Creek) citizens and provide a streamline process for applications. (Muscogee Nation)

OKMLUGEE, Oklahoma – Principal Chief David Hill announced the rollout of a system for Muscogee (Creek) citizens designed to be user-friendly and provide a simpler process than previous applications during an Aug. 13 COVID video update.

The Camphouse Portal is currently in the last testing stages of development for usage. Though the webpage can be accessed on the Nation’s website, according to MN Press Secretary Jason Salsman, the link is “not live” and is in testing mode.

“We wanted to make sure those developers have had as much time as possible to make this system as perfect as possible,” Salsman said.

Due to the inactive status of the portal, Salsman claimed anything entered on the portal at this point will be null and void until the system is fully running.

“There is a lot that goes into that as far as security and making it user-friendly,” he said. “But we are in those final testing stages.”

Salsman stated an official announcement will be released about Camphouse going live around the first week in September, possibly after Labor Day weekend before, which will contain the application for the COVID-19 Impact Relief Individual Assistance Program.

According to Salsman, the Camphouse Portal will continue to serve as a centralized data portal for services even after the American Rescue Plan Funds are expended through specific programs.

“We have heard from a lot of citizens that sometimes with the tribe and getting services, it’s frustrating to have to always put in information two or three times and why isn’t there a centralized location,” Salsman said. “The plan was to have this centralized portal entry system, not only for the $2,000 distribution that the Council mandated but also going forward for the future.”

Once the official portal has be deemed safe and open to use, the Nation will eventually use it to streamline services through the portal.

The Camphouse Portal will allow citizens to enter information regarding self, household, incomes, etc. and also make changes, when necessary, with a login and password.

Salsman stated only enrolled Muscogee (Creek) citizens over the age of 18 will be able to make a portal login.
