MVSKOKE RESERVATION – On August 19, the Health, Education and Welfare/Business, Finance, and Justice Joint Committee held an in-person meeting.
All legislation passed through committee will be presented in the next session for full council approval.
The committee addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:
TR 25-076 A tribal resolution of the MCN authorizing the Principal Chief to execute a proposal letter with attached term sheet and fee letter from BOKF, NA d/b/a Bank of Oklahoma which outlines the terms and conditions for financing new clinics in Holdenville and Sapulpa, and for renovations projects related to Council Oak Comprehensive Healthcare passed with a vote of 8-0. Representative Dode Barnett sponsored this legislation.
The MCNDH needs to be able to expand their capacity due to the demands of healthcare services for the citizens of MCN, they are needing to construct new facilities in areas that are in need. The amount of money will be going towards a new health clinic in Sapulpa and Holdenville, along with a facilities upgrade at the National Council Oak Comprehensive Health care facility in Tulsa to be able to provide new services.
