MVSKOKE RESERVATION – On Oct. 7, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council held an emergency session via teleconference. Passed legislation will go on to the next full council meeting, unless otherwise noted.
The committee addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:
TR 25-095 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to execute a Ground Lease Agreement between the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and Riverline Owner, LLC was passed with a vote of 13-2, with Representatives Robyn Whitecloud and Anna Marshall voting no. Representative Robert Hufft sponsored the legislation.
If adopted, this resolution will allow the Muscogee Nation to lease out land in the Southern Villa area to Riverline Owner, LLC for the purpose of redevelopment and revitalization for a period of 50 years.
TR 25-096 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to execute a Profit-Sharing Agreement between the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and Riverline Owner, LLC was passed with a vote of 12-3, with Representative Robyn Whitecloud, Joyce Deere, and Anna Marshall voting no.
If adopted, this resolution will allow for the Nation to receive a share of profits gained from the redevelopment of the Southern Villa area by Riverline Owner, LLC.
