OKMULGEE – Muscogee Creek Nation National Council Representative for Okmulke District Seat A, Robyn Whitecloud, appeared in the MCN District Court Monday, Feb. 2. As previously reported, Rep. Whitecloud has been charged with four felony counts of preventing or attempting to prevent performance of official acts.
Whitecloud appeared in court without her attorney, Ryan Cannonie of Cannonie Law Office. A member of the law office accompanied Whitecloud and informed Judge Nalani Ching that Mr. Cannolie could not attend the hearing due to a delayed flight. Judge Ching entered a plea of not guilty on Whitecloud’s behalf.
Whitecloud’s court date was rescheduled to Jan. 26 from its original date of Feb. 16, after a motion for accelerated hearing was filed by Cannonie. The snowstorm that moved through eastern Oklahoma forced the MCN District Court to close on Jan. 26, and the hearing was then rescheduled for Feb. 2.
The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for March 2. Mvskoke Media will have ongoing coverage of this story.
