OTHER BUSINESS:
Secretary of Health Shawn Terry gave an update on the Council Oak Comprehensive Healthcare facility. Terry said the Express Care Clinic will no longer accept non-Muscogee patients who are not already established Council Oak primary care patients due to overwhelming demand at the facility.
As of Oct. 13, 2026, the Express Care Clinic will only see non-Muscogee patients who are established with a chart at Council Oak. Muscogee citizens will still be able to get care at the Express Care Clinic even if they do not already have a chart with Council Oak.
Terry said this policy change will ease the demand on the Express Care Clinic’s staff and resources.
MCN Department of Health Chief Financial Officer Brenda Crawford also gave an update. Crawford said that revenue is up 25 percent from last year. Clinics and pharmacies are the top contributors to revenue.
Elderly Nutrition Manager Anna Steiner gave an update at the request of Representative Darrell Proctor. Steiner clarified that the Okmulgee facility has updated its hours. Carry-outs are now being served from 11 a.m. to noon, and the inside of the facility is served from noon to 1 p.m. Steiner said the change in hours is to accommodate the high carry-out demand while also serving the people inside the facility in a timely manner.
