OKMULGEE, Oklahoma – The Muscogee (Creek) Nation has filed felony charges against two activists accused of assault and battery of a police officer.

Jacob Wind and Sandy Williams were participating in a demonstration to free Leonard Peltier, the imprisoned American Indian Movement member convicted of aiding and abetting the murder of two FBI agents in 1977.

A video posted February 7 to the youtube channel “Oklahoma Community Watch” shows the altercation and subsequent arrest.

According to a statement issued by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation the men were arrested by federal agents and may be subject to additional federal charges.

Bond has been set in both cases at $5000.
