BFJ passes last-minute $2M grant to full council

Grant would support MCN Office of Child Support

The MCNC Business, Finance & Justice subcommittee held a meeting in person and via teleconference in the Mound Building on Feb. 17. (MM File).

OKMULKE, Oklv. – The Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council held the monthly Business, Finance and Justice Committee session at the Mound Building on Sept. 28.

Passed legislation is subject to full council approval during the regular session.

The committee addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:

NCA 24-124 A law of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the expenditure of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families Tribal Child Support Enforcement Program Grant for the benefit of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Office of Child Support. The bill was sponsored by Representative Robert Hufft and was unanimously passed 3-0.

If adopted by full council, the $2,860,372.24 grant will be used for operations for the MCN Office of Child Support.
