MVSKOKE RESERVATION – On Oct. 21, the Business, Finance and Justice committee and the Health, Education and Welfare committee held a joint meeting. Passed legislation will go on to the next full council meeting, unless otherwise noted.
The committee addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:
TR 25-104 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation approving the transfer of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation DME, LLC under Muscogee Nation Businesses, LLC was passed with a vote of 7-0. Representative Dode Barnett sponsored the legislation.
If adopted, this resolution will transfer the company Muscogee (Creek) Nation DME, LLC, which provides medical supplies and durable medical equipment to MCN citizens, to the control of Muscogee Nation Businesses, LLC.
TR 25-105 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to execute final loan documents with BOK Financial Public Finance, Inc. outlining the terms and conditions for a loan made for healthcare construction and renovation projects was passed with a vote of 7-0. Representative Anna Marshall sponsored the legislation.
If adopted, this resolution will allow the Muscogee (Creek) Nation to potentially secure a loan of $185,000,000 with BOK Financial Public Finance, Inc. in order to construct and renovate healthcare facilities for the MCN Department of Health.
TR 25-106 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to execute an engagement agreement for professional legal services with the tax law firm of Kutak Rock LLP for legal services on behalf of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation was passed with a vote of 7-0. Rep. Marshall sponsored the legislation.
If adopted, this resolution will allow the Muscogee (Creek) Nation to, on behalf of its Department of Health, secure the services of the tax law firm Kutak Rock, LLP for the purpose of seeking legal assistance and a tax opinion while the Nation works to secure a loan from BOK Financial.
NCA 25-104 A law of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to expend Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health third party and 105L lease account funds for payment of debt service relating to the credit agreement with an aggregate principal amount of up to $185,000,000 with BOK Financial Public Finance, Inc., as administrative agent, to finance healthcare facility construction was passed with a vote of 7-0. Rep. Marshall sponsored the legislation.
If adopted, this law will ensure the payment of debts in relation to the credit agreement with BOK Financial Public Finance, Inc.
