COWETA, Okla. – Key figures from both the Muscogee Nation and the Coweta area gathered together in front of a large crowd on Nov. 7 to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the Coweta Casino Hotel, which is currently being built near State Highway 51. The project is currently slated for completion in the Spring of 2026. The casino and hotel, according to a press release, will be a 104,000 square-foot development and will include a 35,000 square-foot casino with 750 new gaming machines. The hotel itself will have 46 rooms with features such as a pool, fitness centers, and a space for meetings and events. The development will also feature a paved parking lot with 1,000 spaces, a raised center bar in the casino, a full-service restaurant with seating for 150 people, and a porte-cochère entrance, as seen in the rendering below.
In a statement to the press, Chief Hill was excited about the investments the Muscogee (Creek) Nation has made both in the Coweta region and in the greater Tulsa area, and was proud of the effect the Coweta Casino Hotel will have on the lives of Muscogee citizens. “Investing in the City of Coweta represents a remarkable new chapter in our growing entertainment and hospitality legacy. We are proud to develop land throughout our historic reservation, and this project adds to our significant economic development investments within the greater Tulsa region.” Chief Hill told the press.
The casino and hotel are expected to support an estimated 501 jobs in the Coweta area during construction, as well as create 250 new jobs and support 346 jobs following the completion of its construction in Spring 2026.
Coweta Mayor Naomi Hogue was equally excited for the future. “The Muscogee Nation has been a valuable partner to the City of Coweta, with a local investment of $1.5 million in infrastructure and public safety in the last five years that benefits all Coweta citizens. I am looking forward to an even stronger partnership with this new investment into Coweta,” Hogue said in a statement to the press.
