Ramp assistance program passes LNC committee

(MM File)

OKMULKE, Oklv. –  On Feb. 20, the Land, Natural Resources, and Cultural Preservation Committee held a second monthly in person meeting. Passed legislation will go on to the next full regular session, unless otherwise noted.

The committee addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:

The Hutche Chuppa Indian Baptist Church received a Camp, Camp House and Fellowship Grant in the amount of  $10,000. During the Feb. 13 LNC meeting Hutche Chuppa Indian Baptist Church received the same amount under the Emergency Grants program. This legislation corrects the application for Camp, Camp House and Fellowship Grant programs.

TR 24-030 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation confirming the nomination of Raelynn Butler to serve as the Secretary of Culture and Humanities for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation passed with a vote of 4-0.  It was sponsored by Representative Darrell Proctor and co-sponsored by Representative Leonard Gouge and Representative Galen Cloud.

If the nomination is adopted into law by full council, Butler’s term will begin upon confirmation and will be a lifetime appointment.
