OKMULGEE, Oklahoma – A Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council Business, Finance and Justice and Land, Natural Resources and Cultural Preservation Joint Committee meeting was held June 13 at the Mound Building.
All passed legislation will go before the full Council during the regular session.
The BFJ/LNC addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:
TR 23-063 Approving the sale of liquor and beer at the MCN Looped Square Meat Co. Representative Randall Hicks sponsored the legislation, which passed 8-0.
The Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources seeks to sell beer and liquor at the Looped Square Meat Co., which is subject to the Nation’s jurisdiction prior to the tax commission issuing licenses to said locations.
NCA 23-049 Authorizing a budget modification in the excess of ten percent for the MCN Tribal Utility Auhtority’s FY 2023 Self Governance Budget. Representative Joseph Hicks sponsored the legislation, which passed 8-0.
The Tribal Utility Authority is making the request to reallocate certain funds for necessary expenses.
