OKMULKEE, Oklv. – It’s officially flu season in Oklahoma, and as such, it’s time for hospitals, clinics and pharmacies to provide opportunities for the public to get their flu shot. The flu, as the Muscogee Nation’s Department of Health mentions, can be serious, especially for children, elders, and anyone with weakened immune systems. Hoping to help curb the spread of the flu and flu-related complications, the Department of Health has announced a drive to provide flu vaccinations for Muscogee Nation citizens.

During the month of October, MCN Health will be providing flu vaccinations all across the reservation via its mobile flu vaccine clinics. These clinics will travel to various locations across eastern Oklahoma. On Oct. 15 the clinic will appear at the Thlopthlocco Wellness Center located at 109009 N. 3830 Road in Okemah from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. It will also appear at the Holdenville Casino located at 221 E. Willow Street in Holdenville on the same day from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The department will then make stops in Okmulgee, Dustin, Tulsa and Oklahoma City through Oct. 24.

For more information, including locations of specific stops, visit MCN Health’s website, creekhealth.org. A full list of each stop can be found in the flier to the right of this article.
