MVSKOKE RESERVATION – On March 23, the Health, Education, and Welfare/Land, Natural Resources, and Cultural Preservation Joint Committee held an in-person meeting. All legislation passed through committee will be presented in the next session for full council approval.

The committee addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:

TR 26-020 A tribal resolution of the MCN authorizing the Principal Chief to execute a real estate contract for property located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, passed with a vote of 8-0. Representative Darrell Proctor sponsored this legislation.

This purchase of property will be used for the benefit of the MCN Department of Health (MCNDH). This purchase will add to the additional space at MCNDH, as stated in the bill.

NCA 25-049 A law of the MCN authorizing the expenditure of third-party funds to be used toward the purchase of property located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, passed with a vote of 8-0. Rep. Proctor sponsored this legislation.

The owner of the property is asking $1,529,200; there are other costs associated with the purchase. These funds will be allocated to cover the price and additional costs (title insurance, title opinions, surveys, environmental studies, and applicable taxes).
