OKMULGEE, Oklahoma – Unofficial election results reflect an overall win for the incumbent Principal Chief and Second Chief. The results will not be official until Sept. 22, pending a challenge period. Candidates that receive over 51 percent of the vote have won their contest.
Principal and Second Chief
Principal Chief David Hill has won a second four year term with 58.37 percent of the vote. Tim Good Voice came in second with 25.36 percent and he was followed by Lahoma Schultz with 14.08 percent and Joseph Rogers with 2.19 percent.
Second Chief Del Beaver also won a second term with 67.2 percent of the vote. Sandra Golden received 32.98 percent.
MCN National Council
Creek district seat A will see a runoff between Dode Barnett with 39.54 percent of the vote, and Joseph Hicks with 38.98 percent. Leney McNac finished third with 21.48 percent.
Darrell Proctor retains his McIntosh district Seat A with 58.73 percent of the vote. Judith Pickering received 41.27 percent.
Okmulgee district seat A will see a November contest between William Lowe, who garnered 37.8 percent of the vote, and Robyn Whitecloud who got 34.39 percent. James Jennings came in third with 27.81 percent.
The contest period for this election ends on September 22 at 5 PM at which time these results will become official. The general election is scheduled to be held on November 4, 2023.
