MANHATTAN, NY- Beans Factor (Chickasaw) attends Sequoyah High School and is currently a 17 year old senior that has been accepted by Manhattan University (MU) in Riverdale, New York where she will pursue a career in golf. She recently spoke to Mvskoke Media about her sport, her major, and the opportunities on and off the green.
Factor visited the campus in January, and she will tour it again in June on her 18th birthday before starting in the fall. She currently doesn’t know anyone that will be attending the university, but she is excited for the adventure.
“I chose MU because of the new opportunities it brings, as well as the coach, and most importantly the academics. I want to major in Finance and MU is one of the top business schools, ranked #52 overall in the U.S. college ranking by NY (New York) Times,” Factor said.

“The school itself is a very good place for me to be able to get the education that I need and want for me to succeed. The golf courses around are amazing, and it has some of the best golf courses in the U.S.”
Factor hopes to see that her coach can help her improve as a player and grow as a person. “I hope to become the best player I can be and find a new way to view the game of golf and how it can help me to become successful in the golf tournaments and possibly try to go pro,” Factor said.
Factor is full of excitement about connection and growth off the course as well. Factor hopes that this will bring many opportunities and success in her career. Factor said, “The biggest advice I could give is definitely do not settle for the first school that contacts you. Find a school that fits you and will better you as a player and a person.”
