MVSKOKE RESERVATION-  On June 25, the Health, Education, and Welfare Committee and the Land, Natural Resources, and Cultural Preservation held a joint in-person meeting. Passed legislation will go on to the next full council meeting, unless otherwise noted.

The committees addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:

TR 24-067 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to execute a real estate contract for the purchase of property in Okmulgee, Oklahoma passed with a vote of 9-0. It was sponsored by Representative Robyn Whitecloud.

The MCN Emergency management Department will utilize its land management funds for the purchase of the property. The purchase amount is $30,000.

TR 24-068 A tribal resolution of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation authorizing the Principal Chief to execute an Underground Electric Utility Right-of-Way agreement with Public Service Company of Oklahoma for the construction of the new Muscogee (Creek) Nation Okemah Child Development Center located in Okfuskee County passed with a vote of 9-0. It was sponsored by Representative Mark Randolph.

The agreement will be a 20-year term granting Public Service Company of Oklahoma right-of-way access.

I would like to know why is it that majority of tribes pay monthly stipends to each of their tribal members weather in state or out of state from casino earnings as well as senior stipends that are monthly . Why is it that this tribe does not.
