The following obituary was submitted by Swearingen Funeral Home.

Wewoka resident Jerry Robert McKane passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Wewoka.

Jerry, son of William and Lucy (Billy) McKane, was born April 14, 1950 in Okemah. He graduated from Butner High School with the class of 1968. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. After Vietnam Jerry began his trade as a welder. Jerry enjoyed playing pool, welding, working on his designs, watching football and basketball, watching westerns and Wheel of Fortune. He was a master at pool and darts. Jerry truly loved his sons, his grandchildren, and his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Nokose Robert McKane, his parents, Lucy and William McKane, a brother, Angus Roy McKane, and sisters, Margaret Mauldin, and Irene McKane.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jerry Robert McKane Jr., Christopher William McKane, and Ricky Daniel McKane and his fiancé, Christina Chalepah, grandchildren, Kaylynn, Aiana, Nono, Mvlahne, Brycen, Yvwellv, Lucy, Cheryl, McKenzie, and Jewel, brothers Billy McKane, and Eddie Ray McKane, sister, Juanita McGirt, and many other family members and friends.

The Memorial service is Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Apehkv (formerly Arbeka) Church in Okemah. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
