OKMULGEE, Okla. – The Muscogee Creek Nation Citizen Services Building held its groundbreaking on Dec. 12, 2023. It is now a year into the project and Mvskoke Media has an update on its progress.
The information in this update was provided by Candor Building Solutions via Muscogee Creek Nation Press Secretary Jason Salsman. It is current up to Nov. 30, 2024.
The project has encountered a few challenges that have altered the completion date. Early design changes led to delays that moved the completion date back six weeks.
Concrete received from Twin Cities Ready Mix did not meet the strength requirements for the project, which led to a seven week delay and mix designs being changed. Approximately 250 feet of grade beams had to be removed and replaced due to concrete breaks.
Concrete placement and earthwork was also slowed by weather impacts such as rain.
According to Candor Building Solutions, the building is on track and targeting a completion date of the first quarter of 2026.
Even though there are delays, it’s good to know that quality control of the project is in effect and not being ignored! Kudos to the overseers and MCN for the oversight!
