EDMOND, Okla. – The Muscogee (Creek) Nation is sponsoring the Oklahoma City Spark Native American Heritage Night on June 20th from 7-10 p.m. at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond.
MCN Native American Heritage Night will take place at Tom Heath Field at OCU. The night features the Spark’s Home Run Derby. The annual event is a special batting competition where players compete against each other to hit the most home runs. Tickets range in price from $15 to $40.
“We are so excited to partner with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation for our Native American Heritage Night this year. As a community-based Oklahoma team, our state’s culture is something that we enjoy recognizing and celebrating. One of our athletes, Sydney Sherrill, is a native of Moore, OK and a citizen of Muscogee Creek – it is always a fun time seeing her family in the stands supporting!” says OKC Spark General Manager Destinee McElroy.
The OKC Spark is a women’s fastpitch professional softball team that debuted during the 2023 season. Originally affiliated with the Women’s Professional Fastpitch League, the Spark now operates as an independent team. Tom Heath Field at Lawson Plaza is the new home for the Spark who transitioned from their previous home at Devon Park this year.
