OKMULGEE, Oklahoma – The 2023 Muscogee Creek Nation General Election was held on Nov. 4, and the official results are now in.
The MCN National Council Creek District Seat A race saw challenger Dode Barnett defeat incumbent Joseph Hicks, 1,690 votes to 1,601 votes.
Challenger Robyn Whitecloud defeated incumbent William Lowe in the MCNNC Okmulgee District Seat A race, 1,729 votes to 1,580 votes.
There were no challenges to the previously reported primary election results, which became official on Sept. 22.
Darrell Proctor retained his McIntosh district Seat A with 58.73 percent of the vote. Judith Pickering received 41.27 percent of the vote.
Principal and Second Chief
MCN Principal Chief David Hill has won a second four year term with 58.37 percent of the vote. Tim Good Voice came in second with 25.36 percent, he was followed by Lahoma Schultz with 14.08 percent and Joseph Rogers with 2.19 percent.
Second Chief Del Beaver also won a second term with 67.02 percent of the vote. Current Representative and challenger Sandra Golden received 32.98 percent of the vote.
An inauguration date for the chiefs and council representatives has not been announced yet.
