OKMULGEE, Oklahoma – In September 2022, Muscogee Creek Nation National Council Representative Joseph Hicks plead no contest to his first offense DUI in Tribal Court, and is currently on probation for this offense until September of 2023.

On Feb. 13, Mvskoke Media published documentation showing the arrest of Rep. Hicks for felony DUI in Sapulpa, OK.

This update also detailed how Rep. Hicks had not been charged with felony DUI in Tribal Court in relation to this arrest.

On Feb. 15, Mvskoke Media confirmed with the MCN Attorney General Geri Wisner that Rep. Hicks would be charged with a DUI in relation to this arrest and MCN District Court online documentation was updated to show an amended criminal complaint as being filed on Feb. 14, one day after Mvskoke Media’s coverage was published.

Mvskoke Media obtained this amended criminal complaint, which lists the second DUI charge as a misdemeanor.

Mvskoke Media has contacted the MCN Attorney General for clarification on whether this charge is a misdemeanor or a felony.

As of the posting of this update Mvskoke Media has not received a response from the MCN AG’s office.

According to MCN District Court records, a hearing is scheduled in this case for April 24.
