CHECOTAH, Oklahoma – The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program is holding the 7th Annual “Swing For Education Benefit Golf Tournament” on Friday, Sept 4. The tournament will be held at the Fountainhead Creek Golf Course in Checotah and is open to all.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday morning with the Shotgun to follow at 9 a.m. This tournament is a four-person scramble with an entry fee of $400 per team which includes cart rental, green fees, and lunch. A cash prize will be presented to first, second, and third place teams. There will also be raffle prizes and hole contests.
Pre-registration deadline will end Aug 24 although the MCN Scholarship Foundation Program Office Manager Rebecca Wahnee stated they will accept registration until Sept. 4 depending on the number of teams.
“We prefer teams to pre-register by the deadline so we know if we need to order extra carts, but at this time we do not have any teams registered,” Wahnee said.
According to Wahnee there is room for around 20 teams. Spectators may be limited due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. An alternative date has been set for Sept. 25 if necessary.
“Last year we had 22 teams, but as long as there are carts available teams can play,” Wahnee said.
All supporting proceeds benefit the MCN Scholarship Foundation Program and their efforts to raise money for student scholarships. Advertising opportunities are available.
