OKMULGEE, Oklahoma– Reservation Dogs premiered its first two episodes of season one in August 2021, with the season finale airing in September 2021 the show left viewers wondering “will there be a season 2?” It was in a short time after the final episode when the FX/Hulu series announced being renewed for another season.

Recently the series won two awards at the 37th Annual Film Independent Spirit Awards. Film Independent honors and recognizes the best independent films and television series of 2021. Reservation Dogs captured wins for best new scripted series and best ensemble cast in a new scripted series.

The show is an Indigenous teen comedy-drama based in rural Oklahoma as four teenagers steal, rob and save to get to the exotic, mysterious and faraway land of California. As Director of Reservation Dogs and Muscogee (Creek) citizen Sterlin Harjo once said this show is based on his and his co-producer Taika Waititi’s childhood, the beauty of the Indigenous world, humor, home and other things.

The show is written by Sterlin Harjo, Dallas Goldtooth and Ryan Red Corn. Harjo’s co-producer is Taika Waititi. Reservation Dogs stars Paulina Alexis who plays “Willie Jack,” Devery Jacobs who plays “Elora Danan,” D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai who plays “Bear” and Lane Factor also known as “Cheese.”

Elora, Willie Jack, Bear and Cheese will return to the show for the upcoming season, Reservation Dogs casting recently announced Feb. 17 that they were looking for background extras.

“The world we are showing is getting bigger, we definitely need more background people to fill those spots,” Harjo said.

Since Reservation Dogs season 2 is in the process of looking for extras, Harjo is excited for everyone to get back together.

“The whole cast and crew is like a family it’ll be fun to get back together to continue the story,” he said.

In order to be in the show, applicants need to have all requirements fulfilled to be cleared for work. There are two important steps everyone must know, one is to fill out the form provided in the link: https://linktr.ee/RezDogsCasting and two a proof of COVID-19 Vaccination must be uploaded under the same link. The proof of vaccination must be uploaded under “BG” not “Cast.”

Once those two steps are completed, a member of the casting team will reach out to you for consideration. For any questions email: rezdogscasting@gmail.com.

I absolutely love this show. I cannot wait for another season to start. I think I will watch season one over again just because. I love every single character on this show. I am a white middle aged woman from Upstate New York so as you can see…..everyone can relate to these wonderful stories. They touch on all my emotions. I love seeing how they approach every situation. Keep it up Dogs… We love you.
    P.S. Love Mose and Mekko.

Love the show, the casting, writing and the whole ball of truth and humor hit the spot. Keep it up and hope to get it again this fall. (From a small 1950’s Minnesota town of 300, not a reservation but not unlike what kids do here, even the cussing!)
